Dalles Jacobus

singer/songwriter

My name is Dalles Jacobus. I grew up in Eastern Iowa, in a small town called Palo, with my 2 older brothers, younger sister and our dogs.

I grew up in an athletic family. Both of my brothers and myself played multiple sports throughout high school. My oldest brother Devon went on to play baseball at an NAIA school in Des Moines IA called Grand View. My older Brother Derek went on to become an All-American Decathlete at the University of Arkansas. I myself went on to become a Defensive Tackle on the football team for my home state at the University of Iowa.

I grew up singing, I was always in Choirs growing up and throughout High School, but it wasn't until my redshirt sophomore year of college that I found out that I could really sing. I had suffered a really bad back injury while lifting in football, which put me out for a most of the season, which was a big obstacle. I decided to buy a guitar after the season and taught myself how to play. I started posting videos for fun, and got good feedback, but never thought it was possible to pursue, until I wrote a song called "We Wave". "We Wave" is a song dedicated and in honor of one of the most special traditions in all of sports, the Iowa Wave. I ended up performing this song at my roommate’s family get together, and it ended up getting over a million views on Facebook, which gave me the push I needed to give Music a shot. This video caused another Iowa artist named Adam Whitehead to reach out to me to cowrite and feature on a song called "Single Mom" the title track on an album that debuted at number 2 on Apple Music’s albums only behind Gabby Barrett’s Goldmine.

Just recently I signed a Record Deal with the School of Sacred Knowledge (SSK) Records. Currently I'm traveling around Iowa playing multiple shows a week.
